Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions we hear most often from contractors.
Do I need to install anything?
No. SiteView runs in your web browser. Open siteview.build on any computer, tablet, or phone — nothing to download. On your phone, use Add to Home Screen for one-tap access.
Who is SiteView built for?
Remodelers, general contractors, flooring and demo crews, specialty trades, owner-operators, and small construction teams running real job sites.
How do I see SiteView in action?
Book a personalized demo at /demo. A member of the SiteView team will walk you through the product on the kind of jobs you run.
Is my data safe?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, every company's data is isolated with row-level security, and we never share client or financial data with third parties.
Can I use my own logo on estimates and invoices?
Yes. Go to Settings → Company Profile and upload your logo. It appears on every estimate and invoice PDF you send.
How does a client approve an estimate?
When you send an estimate, your client gets a unique link (siteview.build/e/…). They open it on any device — no login needed — review the line items, type their full name, check the e-signature consent box, and click Approve Estimate. You're notified immediately.
Can I edit an estimate after sending it?
You can edit while it's in Draft or Sent status. Once a client approves, the estimate locks to protect the agreed scope — use a change order for any scope changes after that.
Can I break out labor and materials separately?
Yes. Add any number of line items with custom descriptions, quantities, and prices. Label them however makes sense — Labor: Demo, Materials: Tile, etc.
What's the difference between an estimate and a project?
An estimate is what you send to the client for approval. Once approved, it converts to a project, where you track actual costs against your plan in Project Costing, log expenses, and manage the work.
How do I log an expense?
Open the project, go to Expenses → Add Expense. Enter the amount, category, and description, and attach a photo of the receipt from your phone camera.
Will SiteView track my profit margin?
Yes. The Project Costing view shows planned vs. actual spend in real time, so you always know where you stand financially on each project.
How do I create an invoice?
From an active job, click Create Invoice. SiteView pre-fills it from the project details — set the due date, add notes, and send. Your client gets a link to view the professional PDF.
Can clients pay invoices online?
Yes. SiteView supports online invoice payments through Stripe and Square. Connect your own Stripe or Square account in Settings → Payments, send the invoice as a link, and your client can pay by card or ACH. Payment status updates automatically via webhooks. You can also send invoices and record manual payments (check, cash, ACH) at any time.
Can I download the invoice as a PDF?
Yes. Every invoice has a Download PDF button. The PDF includes your logo, company info, line items, totals, and due date.
Does SiteView sync with QuickBooks Online?
Yes. Connect QuickBooks Online in Settings → Integrations to sync invoices, expenses, and vendors. Sync status is shown on each record so you can confirm everything landed in QuickBooks.
Does SiteView sync with Google Calendar?
Yes. The calendar produces an iCal feed you can subscribe to from Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook, so SiteView events show up next to the rest of your schedule.
Is there a mobile app?
SiteView is a mobile-first installable web app (PWA). Open siteview.build on your phone and use Add to Home Screen — it behaves like a native app, including push notifications and an offline-friendly shell. There is no separate App Store / Play Store download today.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Use Send Feedback in the app sidebar, or email admin@siteview.build with what happened, the page you were on, and a screenshot if you can. We respond within one business day.
